The Kinect for Windows SDK beta is a starter kit for applications developers that includes APIs, sample code, and drivers. This SDK enables the academic research and enthusiast communities to create rich experiences by using Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect sensor technology on computers running Windows 7.

DepthJS – Kinect hits the browser!

Remember how the Minority Report gesture interfaces seemed all futuristic way back in ’02? Well now you can flail your limbs wildly to control your browser too!

From the MIT Fluid Interfaces Group comes DepthJS, a browser extension (currently Chrome) that allows the Microsoft Kinect to talk to any web page. It provides the low-level raw access to the Kinect as well as high-level hand gesture events to simplify development.
